Mention your vocational school, medical clearance for work at height and willingness to learn. Carpentry companies often train young people in the crew.

Tailoring your CV to the job offer

Questions and answers

What should a carpenter put on a CV?

Types of structures, work done on your own, reading drawings, formwork systems, tools, clearance for work at height, licences and languages.

Does a carpenter need a licence?

Not for the work itself, but clearance for work at height is usually required, and UDT licences for platforms or cranes are a plus.

How do I describe carpentry work abroad?

Give the country, type of sites, your role and language skills. Experience with timber-frame houses abroad is highly valued.

Is a carpenter the same as a joiner?
