Write which finance department you head, at what company and revenue scale, and how large your team is. Add 1 or 2 results, for example a shorter month-end close or better financing terms. The board is looking for someone who provides fast, reliable numbers for decisions.

How to become a finance manager

People most often move up from chief accountant or financial controller. On your CV show which processes you are already responsible for and who you lead.

Add reports for the board and contact with banks. A finance manager does more than accounting.
