How to write a professional CV for a manager or director

CV Majster knowledge base

A manager's CV has to be different from a standard specialist's CV. Recruiters look in it above all for proof that you can manage, make decisions and deliver business goals.

The key in a management CV is to present your achievements as concrete numbers, financial indicators and the scale of the teams or projects you managed.

It is also worth highlighting strategic and negotiation skills and experience in building organizational structures.

Key tips:

  • Show results in numbers: instead of "I managed a budget" write "I managed an annual budget of one million zlotys".
  • Describe the size of your team: state how many people reported directly to you.
  • List key strategic projects: focus on rollouts that brought the company real profit or savings.
  • Add a strong professional summary: at the very top of your CV, sum up your most important management achievements.
