Packer CV: example and template

This example is for packers in online shop warehouses, logistics centres, food plants and factories, and for people looking for their first job or for work through an agency.

In packing, accuracy, pace and care for the goods matter. We show you how to prove this on your CV with numbers, instead of writing in general terms about being conscientious.

How to write a packer CV

Professional summary

Say where you have packed, for how long and at what pace. The number of orders or items per shift and your accuracy are your strongest arguments. Add your readiness for shift work, because almost every job ad asks about it.

Packer with a year of experience in a logistics centre. I pack up to 250 orders per shift and use a scanner and a label printer. I can work three shifts and at weekends.

Experience: duties and achievements

Instead of "packing goods", describe what you packed, how much and how accurately. Add quality checks, choosing packaging and working with a scanner. Details like these set apart someone who meets the target from someone who is still learning.

Weaker: Packing parcels.

Better: Packing an average of 300 orders per shift with over 99% accuracy.

Weaker: Checking goods.

Better: Checking orders with a scanner before closing the parcel.

Weaker: Working on the line.

Better: Packing products on the line and stacking boxes on pallets on a three-shift system.

Skills worth listing

Under professional skills, list the equipment and tasks you know. Under personal skills, focus on what matters in repetitive work: accuracy, stamina and order.

Professional skills

  • Packing and choosing packaging
  • Scanner and label printer
  • Quality checks
  • Palletising and stretch wrapping
  • Manual pallet truck
  • Hygiene rules and HACCP

Personal skills

  • Accuracy
  • Pace and stamina
  • A tidy workstation
  • Shift work
  • Teamwork

Certificates and training

When packing food and cosmetics, employers often require a food handling health certificate. If you have one, put it on your CV. Add on-the-job training and a forklift course too, if you have one, because it improves your chances.

Packer CV with no experience

Packing is a common first job. Describe casual or seasonal work, or work in a shop where you handled goods. Add that you can work shifts and learn quickly.

If you are looking for work through an agency, your CV can be short, but it should include your availability, where you live and when you can start.

Tailoring your CV to the job offer

An online shop warehouse looks for pace and accuracy with orders, a food plant for hygiene and line work, and a logistics centre for palletising and scanner skills. Move what the employer is looking for to the top.

Questions and answers

What should a packer put on a CV?

Workplaces and the type of goods, the number of orders or items per shift, accuracy, scanner skills, quality checks, certificates and readiness for shift work.

Does a packer need experience?

Not always. Many companies and agencies hire people with no experience. On your CV, stress your availability, accuracy and any work with goods.

Is a CV for a female packer any different?

No, the layout and content are the same. In Polish only the form of the job title changes.
